The gas-only CX-50 is available in seven unique trim levels, including the base 2.5 S Select, 2.5 S Preferred, 2.5 S Meridian Edition, 2.5 S Premium, 2.5 Turbo, 2.5 Turbo Meridian Edition, and the 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus.

Standard and Turbo Engine Choices
Powering the Mazda is a Skyactiv-G 2.5-liter four-cylinder that delivers 187 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque on 87-octane fuel. Turbo models have the same engine with the addition of a single turbocharger. This produces 256 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque with 93 octane gasoline, or 227 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque on regular 87 octane. Both engines are paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission that provides smooth shifts and sporty behavior when wanted. Non-turbo models get an EPA-estimated 25 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway, while turbo models achieve 23 city and 29 highway.
A Brilliant Hybrid with Amazing Range
Hybrid models are also powered by the same 2.5-liter engine that features three electric motors with a hybrid EV battery and an electronically controlled CVT. All hybrid models have a combined output of 219 horsepower and 163 lb-ft of torque. The EPA estimates that owners will achieve 39 miles per gallon in the city and 37 mpg on the highway, resulting in a combined fuel economy of 38 mpg. The CX-50 Hybrid has a total driving range of 551 miles.
Standard AWD Plus Sporty, Off-Road, and Towing Features
As previously mentioned, all CX-50 trim levels come standard with all-wheel drive. Stepping up to a turbo model also adds Mi-Drive Sport and off-road driving modes as standard, plus a towing capacity of up to 3,500 lbs when properly equipped.

All models have a 10.25-inch infotainment system that offers wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Alexa Built-in, and an 8-speaker audio system. A 12-speaker Bose premium sound system is available on 2.5 S Premium trim levels and above.
