Performance

Both of the 2026 Mazda CX-90 engines start as a 3.3-liter SKYACTIV-G turbocharged in-line six-cylinder. From there, you have two levels of performance to choose from.

Turbo models offer this engine with 280 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque when fueled with 87-octane gasoline. Added to this engine is M-Hybrid Boost, a 48-volt mild hybrid system that adds more torque and improved efficiency.

For even more performance, the Turbo S engine produces 340 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, utilizing the recommended 91-octane fuel. This is the most powerful mass-produced engine in Mazda’s history.

Both engines are connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission, and a rear-biased i-ACTIV all-wheel drive (AWD) system is standard. Turbo models can return an EPA MPG rating of 24 city/28 highway/25 combined. Turbo S models can return 23 mpg city/28 mpg highway/25 mpg combined.

The 2026 CX-90’s four-wheel independent suspension features a double-wishbone setup struts in front and a multilink setup in the rear. Not only do you get the handling and cornering you expect in a Mazda, but also a smooth ride for you and your family. The 2026 CX-90 also comes with Electronic Power Assist Steering, along with four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes.

Exterior

The 2026 CX-90 is made to bring the family together. It starts with a look born from the Kodo design language found across the Mazda lineup. It has a very refined appearance that invites passengers to enjoy the drive. That includes a more upright front end and a larger window profile, which enables greater side vision, as well as front and rear views that offer the outward vision you need.

The 2026 CX-90 Turbo Select rides on a set of 19-inch alloy wheels, while all other trim levels feature a set of 21-inch alloy wheels. Premium Sport models wear black-finished wheels, while all other models are equipped with silver-finished wheels.

Interior

Mazda believes that the driver must command their vehicle, while its passengers settle in for the ride. The 2026 CX-90 elevates this further with soft-touch materials and premium materials across four Turbo and two Turbo S trim levels.

With standard seating for eight, there is more than ample access to all three rows of seats. All trim levels offer full leather-trimmed seats and trim in the first and second rows. You can also choose between a three-seat 60/40 split second row set of seats or a pair of captain’s chairs on Premium Sport and Premium Plus models. All 2026 CX-90 models come standard with a three-zone automatic climate control system.

The driver gets a combination of analog and digital readout on Turbo Select and Preferred models. Premium Sport and Premium Plus models receive a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster. You can customize the type of readouts you want to see. The Premium Sport and Premium Plus models feature an Active Driving Display projected onto the windshield. This display includes traffic sign recognition, which helps when keeping your eyes on the road.

The doors open wide for easier ingress and egress. The liftgate also opens high for better loading and unloading of cargo. There is up to 14.9 cubic feet of space behind the third row of seats, expandable to a maximum of 40.0 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row of seats. Fold both the second and third row seats down, and cargo space expands to 74.2 cubic feet.

Technology

The Mazda Connect Infotainment System begins with a Multifunction Commander knob on the center console, accompanied by associated buttons and additional controls on the steering wheel. It all controls the full-color display on top of the center stack – a 10.25-inch screen on Select and a 12.3-inch screen on all other trim levels. Wireless smartphone compatibility is standard on Preferred, Premium Sport, and Premium Plus models, along with a wireless device charger. Alexa Built-in is standard on all 2026 CX-90 models.

Bose offers a 12-speaker Centerpoint surround sound audio system on Premium Sport and Premium Plus models. This delivers a superb sound throughout the cabin.

The CX-90 is one of the safest vehicles on the road today, as rated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. It received the coveted 2025 Top Safety Pick + designation.
