The 2026 Mazda CX-90 is the family-friendly three-row SUV you’ve been looking for. The three rows of seating and luxury features elevate your ride. It has become the clear choice for families looking to “move and be moved.” The team at Kelley Blue Book found five useful features that will make your 2026 CX-90 an excellent experience for you and your family.
It starts with the best way to stay cool throughout our hottest and humid months. The Three-Zone Climate Control is standard on every 2026 CX-90, and it will come in handy – even during our occasional winter cold snaps. The driver, front passenger, and rear two rows have their own climate settings to choose from, including temperature and fan controls. There are vents found for all three rows. KBB said that this “is a simple comfort feature that makes a big difference.”
Some models can seat up to eight people. The third-row seat has space for three people. That includes 36.9 inches of headroom and 30.4 inches of legroom. All trims except for the Premium Plus offer a three-passenger second-row bench seat with seatback recline and rake. Both the second-and third-row seats fold down in a 60/40 split for extended cargo space. In all, there are 141.6 cubic feet of passenger space in the 2026 CX-90. KBB stated that “if maximizing the number of seatbelts in a midsize SUV is a priority for you, then the CX-90 should be on your shopping list.”
KBB loves the luxurious second-row seats. Especially when the 2026 CX-90 is equipped with the captain’s chairs, which are standard on the 3.3 Turbo S Premium Plus, and a choice for all Premium Sport models and 3.3 Turbo and PHEV Premium Plus models. On the 3.3 Turbo S Premium Plus, a center console is located between the seats. KBB added that specifying the captain’s chairs with the center console makes “this Mazda feel like a pricier luxury SUV.”
In every 2026 CX-90, driver assistance and occupant safety are protected by the suite of features that make up i-Activesense. The features include full-speed adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assist. KBB said that they “love to see features like these come standard in family-oriented vehicles.”
This leads to the 2026 CX-90’s Top Safety Pick+ designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. KBB admits that this is not technically a “feature.” However, it will help you pick the right vehicle based on how it performed in crash testing by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the IIHS. It also gives you confidence that your vehicle will keep you safe from harm. KBB also notes that in NHTSA tests, the 2026 CX-90 achieved a five-star overall safety rating.
All of this points to the many reasons your family will enjoy a drive – any drive – in a 2026 CX-90. There are plenty of models to choose from, including plug-in hybrid versions.
