At the 2025 Japan Mobility Show in Tokyo, Mazda unveiled two new concepts: the Vision X-Coupe and the Vision X-Compact (X pronounced as "cross"). The theme for Mazda at this year's event is "The Joy of Driving Fuels a Sustainable Tomorrow" for 2035.
Introducing The Mazda Vision X-Coupe
The Mazda Vision X-Coupe is a sports car design that evolves the company's current KODO "Soul of Motion" design language into the future. Featuring a plug-in hybrid system that works in conjunction with a two-rotor rotary turbo engine that outputs over 510 PS, or about 503 horsepower. With an all-electric range of roughly 100 miles and a combined range of 500 miles when both powertrains are working together, the Vision X-Coupe will be both sporty and economical.
Revolutionary New Fuel Will Lower the Car's Emissions
Mazda says the Vision X-Coupe features a revolutionary new technology that utilizes carbon-neutral fuel, which is produced using microalgae and the company's proprietary "Mazda Mobile Carbon Capture" system, capturing CO2 emissions as it drives. This ensures the car will be incredibly environmentally friendly without sacrificing driving enjoyment.
Introducing The Mazda Vision X-Compact
The next concept, Vision X-Compact, is a digital model designed to connect people and cars through the use of artificial intelligence. The car works with the driver to provide ideas for places to drive that offer new experiences. This aligns with the company's belief that the future of the automobile is about smart mobility, fostering an emotional connection between humans and machines.
